We are partnering with local Spanish schools and communities in Nicaragua to ensure that your donations reach those that need financial support.
Our first partnership is with Casa Xalteva, a non-profit community in Granada. As well as offering one of the best rated Spanish schools in Nicaragua, Casa Xalteva runs a social program that aims to improve the lives of at-risk Nicaraguan children. Casa Xalteva works with children and teens in situations of risk and vulnerability. The primary goal of the program is prevention, so that these kids are able to break away from cycles of poverty and violence and generate positive changes in their own lives and of their community.
Support at risk children
Casa Xalteva provides two meals a day, a safe and happy environment, scholarships for the best possible education at all levels (primary, secondary and university), homework support to make sure they are getting the best grades possible, all learning materials (pens, books, uniforms, shoes, backpacks etc), English lessons, vocational training skills, excursions and other special activities which take place at the end of every month and during the school vacations and a place to be loved, respected and listened to.
We need your help
Casa Xalteva relies on income from their Spanish school to both pay teachers and staff a fair wage and to fund their social program for children. The current political situation in Nicaragua has meant that the number of students attending Spanish schools in Nicaragua has rapidly declined.
All donations received to Speak for Nicaragua will therefore be used to continue to support the children under Casa Xalteva's care and to pay teachers a fair wage.
